Subjects - Programmes

Chemistry Ph.D. ( 5 years) and Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. Programs ( 6 years) are at Department of Chemical Sciences, TIFR, Mumbai and TIFR Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences, Hyderabad (TIFR-H)

Other subjects Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Computer & Systems Sciences (including Communications Machine Learning) Science Education (Ph.D. Programme only)

Test will be conducted at selected cities in India on Sunday, March 7, 2021 and presently Cochin is the only centre at Kerala, other nearby centres are Bengaluru Chennai and Madurai

Morning Session (09:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) is for Physics,

Chemistry and Computer & Systems Sciences

and

Afternoon Session (02:30 p.m. to 04:30 p.m.) is for Biology and Mathematics (02:30 p.m. to 05:30 p.m.)

Eligibility for Chemistry:

For Ph.D.: M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Pharm. or equivalent degree. For I-Ph.D.: B.Sc./B.Pharm./B.S. degree or equivalent degree.

Candidates with B.E./B.Tech, enrolled in the Ph.D. programme can optionally get an M.Sc. degree by fulfilling additional requirements.

Candidates in the final year of qualifying degree can also apply for I-Ph D and M Sc.

Results of the entrance examination will be announced on end-February, 2021 and students shortlisted for interview will be intimated by email.

Engineering students with exceptional performance in GATE examination of 2019-2021 in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mathematics may apply for the Ph.D. program without appearing for the TIFR Entrance Test. The link for GATE score based applications will be made available on website from January 31, 2021.
